2024 Annual Appeal

Website Banner (10)_edited.png

CASA of Johnson and Wyandotte Counties (CASAJWC) has worked diligently over the past two years to not only maintain but expand our funding sources to increase our capacity and reach more children in need. Our vision - to create a community where every child who has experienced abuse and neglect is given the opportunity to thrive — requires ongoing investment. Although our funding sources are diverse, significant funding changes are threatening our ability to meet the current need. As a result, we need your support now more than ever.

Of greatest impact are the reductions in VOCA (Victims of Crime Act) funding which has been significantly reduced over the last few years. In 2023, we received $169,000, but that amount dropped to $110,000 in 2024. For 2025, we anticipate a further reduction to about $63,000, representing a loss of over $100,000. These cuts directly impact our work and threaten the stability of our programs and services.

While we have worked with the State of Kansas to offset some of this loss, we cannot rely on temporary measures indefinitely.

With the transition to a new federal administration in 2025, there will be added uncertainty about future government support.

To ensure continued operations and growth, we must secure alternative funding sources.

CASAJWC strives to secure and expand funding from corporate partners, foundations, special events, and other government sources, but we also need your help. Monthly or one-time contributions will play a crucial role in not only maintaining services, but supporting our efforts to

increase our impact. Your support is vital to meeting the needs of the children we serve.
