Jennifer has been a faithful friend and volunteer for CASA. Since joining the Friends organization, she has volunteered her time at numerous children’s activities, like our annual zoo trip and holiday party. She doesn’t come empty-handed either, bringing snacks and food items for the children as well! Jennifer has also leveraged her involvement with the Centurions, a leadership program, to help CASA with event-day volunteers for the Hops & Barley Ball. Last year, Jennifer nominated CASA to Rotary members as beneficiary for Greater Kansas City Day held for the Royals’ home opener. Jennifer is an excellent leader and a great help to the Friends organization!
Shannon is our longest-standing Friend of CASA. In fact, Shannon got involved with the organization shortly after its launch in 2010. The owner of a daycare, Shannon practices volunteer service and giving with the children in her care. This includes encouraging their collection of birthday gift and holiday items each year for foster children. She’s also reached out to local businesses to initiate the same type of drive efforts. Since becoming involved, Shannon has managed Friends of CASA membership lists, coordinated special events, and today serves as the Communications Chair of the organization. We are so glad to have Shannon on the Friends of CASA team!
Joy is a newcomer to Friends of CASA and a big piece of the organization’s charm and hospitality! Joy has a significant job in serving as Hospitality Chair. Have you attended our Conversation with CASA? Joy plans, creates and delivers a delicious meal for this monthly lunch and learn opportunity. This helps CASA impress our guests looking to know more! With help from other members, she also provides meals for volunteer training classes, special agency receptions, and our Work of Heart Volunteer Recognition Dinners. She’s been known to share a recipe or two and we absolutely love it when she stops by with something tasty in hand! Thank you, Joy, for “serving” CASA!
